In the bible, and in the book of Ephesians, it tells us how when Jesus ascended up on high, he gave gifts to men. One of those gifts he gave was the teacher. Teachers are a gift from Jesus Christ. Why did he give this gift? For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he said, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

We all have to reach that place in the body of Christ. In order to get to that place in him, in order to get to that place where God wants you to be, he gave teachers along with other gifts, to help bring us to that place in him, it is his body, it is his church and where he wants to place you within his body. We need to be perfected for the work in which he has called us to, and he uses teachers to do the perfecting.
